ACTION: Fifth Graders are to be Taught Masturbation in NJ Government Schools

The New Jersey Department of Education, instructed by the New Jersey State Board of Education with the influence of Gov. Phil Murphy’s wife Tammy composed the 2021 -2022 “Comprehensive Health and Physical Education 2.1 Personal And Mental Health by the End of Grade 5” learning standards.

The Center for Garden State Families is alarmed by the age-inappropriate material being forced on minor children who are 9, 10, and 11 years old!

The standards are but guidelines for each individual school district to determine how the standards are to be met. Recently, The Center for Garden State Families spoke to a large group of concerned citizens in a town in the Garden State. A health teacher approached us at the end of the presentation to tell us that the school was considering options and how to teach the masturbation requirement to the fifth-graders.

The teacher was told they may be looking for a “film” to show to the students. The Center for Garden State Families would like to know exactly what film would be appropriate to demonstrate or instruct on masturbation? How does the Department of Education suggest that school districts fulfill their standards?

Below you can see detailed performance expectations for each core idea of instruction.

The NJ Sex Education Learning Standards for 2021-2022 include direct, explicit instruction of masturbation to 5th graders using materials considered to be and by definition, pornographic. Prepubescence is a “time of physical, social, and emotional changes” and government schools should not be allowed to use highly controversial material from organizations like SIECUS to teach sensitive sexual content. This is the exclusive right and responsibility of parents only!

Minor children must be protected from sexualization, graphic materials, and messages which have an adverse effect on the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development of the child. We vehemently oppose this and other related teachings of a sexual nature which have no educational purpose. Nor is it the purview of government schools.

The New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) are reviewed and revised every five years. The 2020 NJSLS in Comprehensive Health and Physical Education were adopted by the State Board of Education on June 3, 2020. Districts are required to implement by September 2022. The 2020 New Jersey Student Learning Standards webpage provides links to the 2020 NJSLS and information regarding curriculum implementation dates.

The state requires that all students participate in a comprehensive, sequential health and physical education program that emphasizes the natural interdisciplinary connection among wellness, health and physical education. The standards provide a blueprint for curriculum development, instruction and assessment for effective health and physical education programs. The primary focus of the standards is on the development of knowledge and skills that influence life-long healthy behaviors within the context of self, family, school and the local and global communities. The 2014 revised standards incorporate the current thinking and best practices found in health and physical education documents published by national content-specific organizations.

2014 New Jersey Student Learning Standards – Comprehensive Health and Physical Education

Summary of Revisions to the 2014 New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Comprehensive Health and Physical Education There were minor changes [emphasis added] made to the 2014 standards. Changes to the standards included adding the following terms in the glossary: overload principle, progressive principle, principle of specificity, health, wellness, rhythm and health data. Newly passed legislation, N.J.S.A. 18A: 35-4.23a describing Dating Violence education grades 7-12, was added to the legislation section. One additional revision to the introduction of the document was an addition to the existing definition of 21st century skills by the Partnership of 21st Century Skills. The phrase “Understanding national and international public health and safety issues” was added to the existing definition.

Sex Education Standards for New Jersey Government Schools were to be taught Masturbation to Fifth-grade children beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year. Below is the State of New Jersey Department of Education Student Learning Standards — Comprehensive Health and Physical Education. 2.1 Personal and Mental Health goals to be mastered by the end of Grade 5.

The Center for Garden State Families believes that this objectionable material is not the responsibility of NJ government schools. This very personal “time of physical, social, and emotional changes” needs to be handled within the confines of the parent-child relationship. The government has zero compelling interest in discussing or teaching the sexualization of minor children.

Social and Emotional learning is a highlighted concept that originated in the 1920s from the ideas of Sigmund Freud and Alfred Kinsey. This preceded the 1964 inception of SIECUS: Sexuality, Information, Education Council of the United States, founded by Dr. Mary Calderone MD, now known as Sex Education for Social Change.

The unsubstantiated theory of Climate Change is a religion, a faith-based assumption. Weather Channel founder: John Coleman (meteorologist), schools CNN on Climate Change “Baloney”, “there is no global warming”. After all, those who cry the seas are rising don’t believe in what they are preaching. Why else would Barack Obama buy a $12, 000,000 waterfront house in Martha’s Vineyard if you really believe the oceans are rising? “Global issues” is a broad statement that encompasses a multitude of factors such as, population control, reproductive rights, vaccine mandates, plant-based fake meat, increased government control progressing to one world governance.
