Laken Riley Act in US Senate Friday ACT NOW
Georgia Nursing Student Laken Riley
Laken Riley fought for her life!
US Senate Vote this Friday!
Protect Americans from Dangerous Criminal Aliens. Pass the Laken Riley Act Now!
The Senate will vote on the House-passed H.R. 29, the Laken Riley Act, this Friday, January 10th.
The Laken Riley Act is critical to bolstering public safety and protecting Americans across the country from dangerous criminal illegal aliens.
Georgia nursing student Laken Riley's tragic murder almost a year ago is another clear example of how open borders impact communities all over the country. By expanding the grounds for mandatory detention, requiring the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to issue detainers, and providing state attorneys general with legal standing to sue the federal government for not enforcing our immigration laws, The Laken Riley Act provides common-sense reforms to keep communities safe.
Specifically, the bill:
Requires the detention of inadmissible aliens for theft-related crimes;
Requires the DHS Secretary to issue detainers and transfer those aliens from local law enforcement into ICE’s custody;
Grants state officials with legal standing to sue the federal government due to harm inflicted on their state's citizens from its failure to enforce our immigration laws, including failing to detain and remove illegal aliens and illegally granting parole.
Congress MUST act to ensure criminal aliens are detained and not released back into communities across the country. Americans cannot afford to wait any longer!
