As the 2026 FIFA World Cup unfolds with matches at MetLife Stadium—including the final on July 19—New Jersey faces heightened risks of human trafficking. Major sporting events draw traffickers who exploit crowds, tourism, and vulnerable children. We cannot wait to act.

Powerful Update from #PrayShareFind World Cup Edition (6.6.26): On June 6, churches and volunteers across World Cup host regions, including New Jersey, mobilized for prayer, awareness, and action through the Church and Community Abolition Network (CAN)

The results speak volumes:

  • 109 CHILDREN FOUND — and the work is still expanding with new teams deploying and multi-agency responses continuing.

This is the Church and Community in action — but awareness and volunteer efforts alone are not enough. We need stronger laws with real enforcement power.

That’s why we urge you to contact and encourage your NJ State Senator and Assemblypersons to support and cosponsor A1260/S352the Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Prevention Act. This bill requires internet-connected devices to include digital blocking for obscene material, child pornography, prostitution hubs, and known trafficking websites. It includes opt-out provisions for adults and directs any fees to the Commission on Human Trafficking — providing real prevention without raising taxes.

Pair this with A1215, which expands penalties to those who financially benefit from trafficking. Together, these bills close loopholes and protect our children before and after the World Cup.

New Jersey families deserve proactive protection, not reactive posters. Traffickers target our most vulnerable — we must put barriers between them and our kids.

Please reply and contact your legislator today to voice strong support for A1260/S352 and A1215. Urge leadership to bring it to the floor for a vote and passage this session.

Together, through faith, advocacy, and action, we can build Protected Families. A Strong Garden State. True Freedom.
