Stop Mutilating Children in the Womb and Outside the Womb! Gov Signs S2260
Urgent Alert – Governor Sherrill Signs S-2260: An Assault on Innocent Human Life
Today, August 20, 2026, Governor Mikie Sherrill signed Senate Bill S-2260 into law. This legislation expands legal shields for abortion and so-called “gender-affirming” interventions, protecting providers and patients from out-of-state accountability while further entrenching practices that destroy or permanently alter the bodies of children.
We reaffirm, without apology or compromise, our firm and unchanging position: every human life must be protected from the moment of conception until natural death.
Human life begins at the moment of conception. A unique life has begun with a zinc spark as the sperm entered the egg and the instantaneous fusion of 46 chromosomes: a human being. From that first instant, a new, distinct human organism exists—complete with its own DNA, its own developmental trajectory, and the inherent right to life. Science confirms what morality and reason already know: this is not potential life; it is a living human child.
S-2260 advances the opposite view. By shielding abortion and chemical or surgical interventions that stop a child’s heart in the womb, and by extending similar protections to irreversible interventions performed on children after birth, the Democratic Party and Governor Sherrill support the mutilation of children in the womb and out of the womb.
This is profoundly immoral. It treats the smallest and most vulnerable members of the human family as disposable or alterable according to adult desire or political ideology. It denies the biological reality of sex and the inviolable dignity of the unborn. It places the power of the state behind those who end lives already begun and those who permanently damage healthy bodies of minors under the banner of “care.”
We reject this. We will continue to speak the truth: abortion is the deliberate killing of a human being; so-called gender-affirming procedures that remove healthy organs or administer sterilizing hormones to children are irreversible harm. Both violate the fundamental right to life and bodily integrity that every person possesses from conception onward.
We call on every person of goodwill in New Jersey and beyond to stand with us. Pray. Speak. Support pregnancy resource centers, adoption, and authentic help for mothers in crisis. Hold elected officials accountable. Refuse to accept the lie that destroying or mutilating children is compassion.
Life is not a political preference. It is the first and most basic human right. We will defend it—from conception to natural death—without exception and without retreat.
In defense of the most vulnerable,
On behalf of the Center for Garden State Families,
This is the message you will send to Governor Sherrill and your legislators when you click through:
Governor Sherrill, members of the Sherrill Administration, and members of the New Jersey Legislature:
We write to you with urgency and moral clarity. By signing and supporting S-2260, you have expanded legal shields for abortion and so-called gender-affirming procedures. In doing so, the Democratic Party and Governor Sherrill support the mutilation of children in the womb and out of the womb.
Human life begins at the moment of conception. A unique human being comes into existence with the zinc spark and the fusion of 46 chromosomes. From that instant until natural death, every child possesses an inherent right to life and bodily integrity. S-2260 protects those who deliberately end that life in the womb and those who permanently alter or remove healthy organs and reproductive capacity from children after birth. This is not healthcare. It is the systematic harm of the most vulnerable.
We call on you to stop. Stop shielding the destruction of unborn children. Stop protecting irreversible interventions performed on minors. Stop using the power of New Jersey government to normalize and defend the mutilation of children—both in the womb and outside the womb.
This law places the state on the side of death and permanent injury rather than protection. It is immoral, and it will be remembered as such. We urge you to reverse course, support repeal, and restore legal recognition of the right to life from conception to natural death.
The people of New Jersey who value every human life are watching and will continue to hold you accountable.
