What happened?

In case you missed it, the New Jersey State Senate was forced to cancel a scheduled vote on a bill to legalize marijuana.

There was serious arm twisting by leadership and the Governor, promising perks for a legislators individual districts, but try as they may, they could not muster the needed votes to pass recreational marijuana.

Local police and county Sheriffs oppose the bill. Law enforcement are eye witnesses to the effects and dangers of recreational marijuana use.

The Center for Garden State Families worked for months to counter the misinformation and outright lies from the greedy “Pot Lobby.”

An eye-opening report from an award-winning author and former New York Times reporter reveals the link between teenage marijuana use and mental illness, and a hidden epidemic of violence caused by the drug—facts the media have ignored as the United States rushes to legalize cannabis.

Recreational marijuana is now legal in nine states. Almost all Americans believe the drug should be legal for medical use. Advocates argue cannabis can help everyone from veterans to cancer sufferers. But legalization has been built on myths– that marijuana arrests fill prisons; that most doctors want to use cannabis as medicine; that it can somehow stem the opiate epidemic; that it is not just harmless but beneficial for mental health. In this meticulously reported book, Alex Berenson, a former New York Times reporter, explodes those myths.

CNBC interview with former NYT reporter Alex Berenson.

The Center for Garden State Families worked with a coalition of organizations and concerned citizens to fight the legalization of recreational marijuana. We consulted with Alex Berenson to combat the real and undisputed dangers of marijuana use.

Governor Phil Murphy in New Jersey won’t give up on the bill. New York’s Legislature- many of it’s members were watching this New Jersey outcome very closely- is shuddering as the push for legalization in the budget has all but failed in the face of our valiant coalition. Illinois’ state leadership also watched this titanic victory closely as they prepare to unveil their misguided legalization bill any week.

We have Big Marijuana on the run, but now is not the time for a victory lap. We need your help. New Jersey state legislative session does not end until June 30th. Governor Murphy is already talking about advancing easier access to “medical marijuana.” However based on a bill that is currently introduced in the NJ legislature this looks like a ruse for recreational access to POT.
